Detroit Lions activate S Jalen Elliott from Reserve/COVID-19 list, waive Jeremiah Dinson

The Detroit Lions got good news on the COVID-19 front yesterday, as 1,000 straight tests failed to yield a positive result. Nearly every member of the 53 man roster had been available, and now the only remaining player on the injured/COVID-19 list is active.

The team activated S Jalen Elliott today off the list. Along with Elliott, eight Lions players had been sidelined, including quarterback Matthew Stafford, tight end T.J. Hockenson, tight end Isaac Nauta, cornerback Justin Coleman, cornerback Amani Oruwariye and punter Arryn Siposs.

Meanwhile in corresponding roster moves, they’ve waived S Jeremiah Dinson and also activated DE Romeo Okwara:

The Lions are now at full strength for practice aside from Austin Bryant, who is still on the PUP list.

“I know as players we really appreciate it,” Matthew Stafford said. “It’s not lost on us the amount of dollars and effort that went into making the building and the facility look and operate the way that it does right now. I know a ton of people had extremely busy offseasons building this place out to what it is now and figuring out the dynamics of trying to social distance while playing a team sport.

“So I’m extremely appreciative, I know all my teammates are as well of just the amount of work and effort that went into giving us this chance to go out there and play.”
