Prior to the start of the 2022 season, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell made a comment about being able to “tread water” and eventually “burying” the other team.
“Like, to me, it means we’ll play you anywhere. We’ll play you on grass. We’ll play you on turf. We’ll go to a (bleeping) landfill. Doesn’t matter. And that’s what we got to be. That’s who we have to be, because we’ll tread water as long as it takes to (bleeping) bury you. Let’s go to work, men. It’s about to be fun.”

Unfortunately, the Lions have not been treading water at all and it has been their opponents that have been (bleeping) burying them as they are off to a 1-4 start.
And things are about to get a lot tougher.

Why are the Detroit Lions heading into rough seas?
The Detroit Lions are currently on their bye week as they try to fix some things that have gone horribly wrong during the first five weeks of the season.
But, unfortunately, things are about to get even tougher.
According to Tankathon, the Lions have the fourth-toughest schedule remaining, which means they are heading into rough seas.
As you can see below, the Lions still have to play the Bills, Cowboys, Vikings, Giants, Packers (2), and Dolphins.

What’s next for the Detroit Lions?
Up next for the Lions is a road matchup against a Dallas Cowboys team that has been rolling as of late without Dak Prescott.
Upcoming Lions schedule:
10/23 @ Dallas
10/30 vs. Miami
11/6 vs. Packers
