Detroit Lions offensive assistant Marques Tuiasosopo has earned a notable honor, as he has been selected to coach the quarterbacks for the American Team at the upcoming Senior Bowl.

Tuiasosopo, who joined the Lions’ staff in 2025, will be part of the American Team coaching group, working directly with some of the top quarterback prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft class. The assignment places him on a national stage during one of the league’s most important pre-draft events, where NFL coaches and scouts closely evaluate college talent.
A former NFL quarterback himself, Tuiasosopo has built an impressive coaching résumé over the years, including stops at UCLA, USC, Washington, California, and most recently as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Rice before arriving in Detroit. His background in developing quarterbacks made him a natural choice for the Senior Bowl role.
For the Lions, Tuiasosopo’s selection is another sign of the growing respect for their coaching staff around the league. With Detroit continuing to build its reputation as a hub for player development, having an assistant coach trusted with guiding elite draft prospects only adds to that credibility.
