On October 6, the Detroit Lions announced they were placing Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow on the Reserve/Injured list with a toe injury.
“He’s got, basically, a version of turf toe right now is what he’s got,” Lions coach Dan Campbell explained at the time. “We’ll know a lot more this afternoon with him. I would say he’s probably going to be out, though.”
Ragnow suffered the injury during the Lions game in Chicago against the Bears and it ended his season.
On Monday, Ragnow divulged to reporters that he ruptured the tendon in the plantar plate in his foot.
“Pain-wise, I think I could have handled it,” he said. “Player-wise, I don’t think I would have been nearly the player I need to be to help this team.”
