Prior to the start of the 2021 season, ESPN released their rankings for the Top 10 Interior Offensive Linemen in the NFL, and Detroit Lions center Frank Ragnow came in at No. 4.
But a year later, thanks to an injury that caused him to miss 13 games in 2021, Ragnow is no longer in the top 10.
Detroit Lions C Frank Ragnow knocked off Top 10 list
Though Ragnow is no longer on ESPN’s Top 10 Interior Offensive Linemen list, which is voted on by NFL executives, coaches, and players, he did make the honorable mention section.
Here is what ESPN has to say about Ragnow:
Frank Ragnow, C, Detroit Lions: Injury knocked Ragnow, our No. 4 interior player and best overall center last year, out of the top 10. He missed 13 games because of a toe injury that required surgery. From an NFC scout: “You can do just about anything with him as an offense. He can run the show up front, and he’s athletic and versatile to get on the move and play in space.”
Ok, let me make it clear that I still believe Frank Ragnow is one of the Top 10 interior offensive linemen in the National Football League. That being said, I cannot be mad at the voters for not putting him in the top 10 considering he did not play in 13 games in 2021.
The Detroit Lions’ offensive line is expected to be one of the top offensive line units in football in 2022 and Ragnow is a big reason why.
Though Frank Ragnow is not in the Top 10 this year, it is a pretty safe bet that he will be back on this list again in 2023.
