Detroit Lions can clinch last place on Sunday vs. Vikings

It’s been a season to forget for the Detroit Lions so far in 2019. They’re officially out of the playoff race with a 3-8-1 record, and calls for the jobs of head coach Matt Patricia and GM Bob Quinn have been heating up.

And now, the Lions can officially add to their woes this season with a loss on Sunday.

Should they not defeat the division rival Minnesota Vikings this weekend, they’ll officially clinch last place in the NFC North. It would mean they couldn’t finish any better than 6-9-1. Everyone else in the NFC North already has at least seven wins.

Of course, the two losses to division rivals Chicago (and QB Mitchell Trubisky) certainly didn’t help things.

Long-suffering Lions fans will have to once again wait until next year.
