The Detroit Lions and their fans have known for a while they will be getting a huge break for their Week 1 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals as top CB Patrick Peterson will be serving a suspension.
But that won’t be the only break the Lions are getting as the Cardinals second best CB Robert Alford injured his leg in Thursday’s preseason game against the Raiders.
With Arizona already without CB Patrick Peterson for the first six games due to a suspension, it now has lost CB Robert Alford for about two months with a leg injury. Cards shorthanded at CB to open season.

With Peterson and Alford both sidelined, Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense should have a nice advance in the opening week of the season.
