It wasn’t the greatest of debuts for Detroit Lions CB Jeff Okudah last week against the Green Bay Packers, whom the Lions selected with the 3rd overall pick in this past year’s NFL Draft.
Being matched up against Davante Adams and D’Andre Hopkins would be difficult for anyone, but especially so for a rookie in his first NFL action.
However, it was a better second game this afternoon against the Arizona Cardinals, even picking up his first career interception, helping the Lions to their first win of 2020 and first since October of 2019.
Afterwards, Okudah said that he and his teammates felt “disrespected”, and were out to prove the doubters wrong.
“Coming into the game, for me personally, I was tired of being disrespected by everyone. I think the whole defense was tired of being disrespected and the whole team tired of being disrespected, so it’s a game we took personal,” he said.
Can Okudah and the Lions use this win today as a springboard to get their season back on track?
