The Detroit Lions are bringing a little extra holiday flair to the field this year. On Wednesday, the team’s special Christmas Day uniform patch was revealed, and it’s honestly perfect for the occasion.
The design features the classic NFL shield wrapped in festive candy canes, with a bold “2025” stamped underneath. It’s clean, it’s sharp, and it’s going to stand out in a big way when the Lions take the field in their all-black uniform combo. Against that dark backdrop, this patch is going to absolutely pop.
And the stage couldn’t be bigger.
Detroit travels to Minnesota to take on the Vikings on Christmas Day, a marquee matchup that will be broadcast exclusively on Netflix. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m. ET, giving Lions fans the perfect post-presents, pre-dinner football fix.
Detroit’s first appearance in a Christmas Day game came back in 1994, a 27–20 road loss to the Miami Dolphins. Their second Christmas matchup arrived in 1999, when the Lions fell 17–7 at home to the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos.
Between the blackout uniforms, a rivalry showdown, and now this festive new patch, the Lions will look as sharp as ever when they hit the field on December 25.
