On Sunday, the world seemed to stand still as we all learned that former Los Angeles Lakers‘ great Kobe Bryant had died in a helicopter crash.
One of Bryant’s biggest fans is Detroit Lions CB Darius Slay.
If you have followed Slay during his time with the Lions, you know very well that he had idolized Kobe since he was young.
Following Sunday’s Pro Bowl, Slay commented about the death of his idol.
“It’s heart-wrecking,” Slay said with tears in his eyes. “There’s not any words you can say. I’m in shock. I just imagine him growing old, being part-owner of the Lakers and having a future son I could cheer for next. It’s just shocking. Me saying the words `Kobe’s gone,’ that’s just crazy.”
