Heading into the 2019 season, one thing was for certain, the Detroit Lions were going to have a solid defense.
Well, through 11 games that has not been the case as the Lions defense ranks No. 29 in the NFL with 396.2 yards allowed per game.

That number is not acceptable, especially considering head coach Matt Patricia is supposed to be a defensive guru.
Because of the Lions struggles this season, Patricia has come under fire and there are plenty of fans who want him out of town as soon as possible.
But what do Patricia's players think of him as their head coach?

Well, though he does not speak for every player on the roster, Lions defender Devon Kennard has Patricia's back, despite the team's lack of success so far this season.
From 97.1 The Ticket:
“For me personally, I’ve learned so much football since I came here last year. Great coach, cares about his guys. Does the very best he can week in and week out, puts us in position to succeed,” said Kennard. “It hasn’t been a good season so far, but I’m a firm believer in riding with him until the wheels fall off. That’s my mentality.”
Have the wheels not fallen off already?
“It’s obviously not good where we’re at, but I'm not the type to be in the middle of the season and to be jumping ship,” Kennard said. “I’m trying to win a game on Thursday. All that other talk is noise. I think it’s disrespectful to this game to be worried about that kind of stuff. Got a big game on Thursday, it’s a big thing for fans, for this organization. That’s where our mind needs to be.”
Nation, do you think that most of the Lions locker room actually feels the same as Kennard does?
