On Sunday, the Detroit Lions will look to pick up their second win of the season when they travel to Foxborough to take on the New England Patriots.
Heading into the game, the Lions have the No. 1 ranked scoring offense in the NFL but they also have the No. 32 ranked scoring defense in the league.
If the Lions are going to beat the Patriots, the defense is going to have to get a few stops in this one, which is something they did not do last Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
What huge break will the Detroit Lionsโ defense get?
According to reports, New England Patriots starting quarterback Mac Jones is listed as doubtful for Sundayโs game against the Detroit Lions.
If Jones is in fact OUT against the Lions, it will be rookie Bailey Zappe who would make his first NFL start.
The Lions know Bailey Zappe well
You may or may not remember but the Detroit Lions coaching staff knows exactly who Bailey Zappe is as they had the opportunity to coach him at the Reeseโs Senior Bowl prior to the 2023 NFL Draft.
Who knows, maybe Dan Campbell and his coaching staff learned some of Zappeโs weaknesses at the Senior Bowl and they will be able to expose those on Sunday.
Nation, do you think the Lionsโ defense will finally get on track on Sunday against the Patriots?
