Detroit Lions disrespected in 2022 NFL triplets rankings

Heading into the 2022 season, many believe the Detroit Lions offense could be a force to reckon with but not everyone believes.

Detroit Lions vs. Everybody!

Heading into the 2022 season, many believe the Detroit Lions‘ offense could be a force to reckon with as they should have one of the top offensive lines in the league to go along with some weapons, including D’Andre Swift and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

“We’re on a path where we feel like we can make noise,” second-year wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown said. “The Lions organization has been an underdog for a long time now. But organizations can flip around quick. Look at the Bengals. Last year, they went to the Super Bowl, and the year before that, they were at the bottom of the league. All it takes is a few guys to buy in.”

“In this league, every year is a new year. So going into this year, we understand it’s a new year and that’s what I love about it. Whatever happened last year happened. The bad stuff, we want to leave behind, and the good stuff, we want to take with us.”

Detroit Lions disrespected in 2022 NFL triplets rankings

One person who does not seem to be a big believer in the Detroit Lions offense, at least when it comes to Jared Goff, D’Andre Swift, and Amon-Ra St. Brown is Around the NFL writer, Nick Shook.

Schook recently released his 2022 NFL Triplet rankings and the Lions came in at No. 28 in the league.

But the oddest part is that Shook has Swift as the No. 20 running back and St. Brown as the No. 30 wide receiver!

From NFL.com:

Detroit Lions No. 28

Quarterback: Jared Goff — Rank: T-23 (One game: 22 | 2022 prod.: 26)

Running back: D’Andre Swift — Rank: 20

Pass catcher: Amon-Ra St. Brown — Rank: 30

Don’t take my ranking of St. Brown as criticism; I’m a big believer in his potential. I’m curious to see how the Lions work in Jameson Williams when he’s ready to go, and if he’ll overtake St. Brown as the top pass-catcher in Detroit. Until then, it’s St. Brown’s role, and we know he has the work ethic for it. Goff has already been subjected to plenty of talk about when he will be replaced, but he’s been pretty good at tuning it out. We’ll see if he can be better in 2022 and silence some of that noise. And as Duce Staley said on Hard Knocks, Swift has the potential to be an elite back. He just needs to go earn it, and hopefully for him, he won’t be the focus of opposing defenses every week like in past years.

In case you were wondering, the Chicago Bears came in at No. 25, the Green Bay Packers come in at No. 9, and the Minnesota Vikings are ranked No. 7.

The Cincinnati Bengals (Joe Burrow, Joe Mixon, and Ja’Marr Chase) are the top-ranked team on the list.

Nation, do you agree with these rankings from Nick Shook? Where do you think the Detroit Lions should be ranked?
