Detroit Lions DL Trey Flowers responds to NFL’s admission of error

In case you have not noticed, people are extremely upset about the Detroit Lions getting screwed by the officials on Monday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers.

But one person who has been complete class ever since the calls were made just so happens to be the same person who has the right to be the most upset.

That person is DL Trey Flowers, who was flagged for not one but two phantom hands to the face calls during the fourth quarter of the Lions 23-22 loss to the Packers.

Though Flowers has made it clear he disagrees with the calls, he has handled the whole situation like a true pro.

After reviewing the penalties (after the game was over), the NFL admitted the officials made a mistake on the second hands to the face call.

On Wednesday, Flowers was asked it the NFL's admission of guilt meant anything to him.

From 97.1 The Ticket:

“It means nothing,” he said Wednesday. “The score’s still the same and we still lost, so it is what it is.”

At the very least, it was suggested to Flowers, it validates that the technique he used on the play in question — the same one he's used throughout his career — was legal.

“I knew I was doing it right,” he said with a smile. “I didn’t need any validation. … Now I guess it validates that it can be called right.”

This just makes me respect Flowers even more than I already did!
