According to Tim Twentyman’s Twitter account, the Detroit Lions will be giving the starting nod to C.J. Mosley over Nick Fairley, Friday night against Oakland. The move is not necessarily a shock, though. Nick Fairley was demoted to the second team defense since early in the week. The move by Jim Caldwell has received mix reactions, but most feel that Nick Fairley needs to work harder at staying in shape. The Lions are not convinced that Nick Fairley is the best option at defensive tackle next to Ndamukong Suh, and Fairley has not done a good enough time keeping his spot.
Lions going with a starting defensive line tonight of George Johnson, Suh, C.J Mosley and Devin Taylor. Will rotate a lot from there.
