Three things to watch for:

  • On-going position battles: Look for players from both teams who are trying to win jobs and be on the final 53-man roster come week one of the regular season to make an impact tonight.
  • Detroit’s offensive line play: The O-Line for the Lions was ‘shaky’ in the preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Many eyes will be focused on rookie left tackle Taylor Decker as he looks to shake off and put the game against the Steelers behind him. He’ll be matched up with another solid pass rusher in Michael Johnson.
  • Who steps up at linebacker for the Lions: DeAndre Levy was activated off the non-football injury list this past Tuesday. He vows he’ll be ready to play come week one of the regular season and will likely not see any time during the preseason to keep healthy. That being said, Tahir Whitehead will be really the only projected starter playing tonight when talking about the linebacking corps. That gives Josh Bynes and Kyle Van Noy plenty of time to prove themselves and show the coaching staff who deserves to be the third starting linebacker on Detroit’s defense.
Are the Detroit Lions looking to upgrade their quarterback room?
