On Sunday morning, news broke that Matthew Stafford would not be active for the Detroit Lions because of a fractured back.
Just before the Lions game against the Chicago Bears, GM Bob Quinn gave a short statement explaining how the decision was made.
Quinn declined to answer follow up questions.
"Matthew, deactivated him this morning. Had the back injury last week, near the end of the Oakland game. Practiced on limited all week, listed him as questionable. Got to the stadium this morning, met with the doctors & wasn't medically cleared to play today so he's deactivated"

Nation, do the Lions have any chance at all without Stafford taking the snaps?
