According to multiple reports, the Detroit Lions are trying to trade Matthew Stafford before the Super Bowl, with some saying the trade could be agreed to in principle by Tuesday (or sooner).

Josh Taylor notes that the reason why the 49ers could lose out on Stafford is that they were not willing to give the Lions the No. 12 pick as part of a potential trade.
