Prior to Friday’s practice, Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia met virtually with the media and he was asked to share his feelings about former NFL head coaches Bill O’Brien (Texans) and Dan Quinn (Falcons), who were both recently fired by their respective organizations.

Patricia said he reached out to both O’Brien and Quinn to check-in to see how they are their families are doing and to make sure they are ok.
“Obviously, we all know this business is tough,” Patricia said. “You know, those are two great guys and I reached out to both just to make sure they are ok. I mean, certainly when any situation comes up, I always just think about how he is doing, how is his family doing? And that’s probably the most important thing, just to make sure everyone is ok. We know what we sign up for but it affects people’s families and you want to make sure everyone is alright.”
Patricia, of course, has been on the hot seat in Detroit for some time now and unless the Lions turn their season around, he too could be shown the door, along with general manager, Bob Quinn.
That being said, let’s hope the Lions do turn things around beginning with Sunday’s game vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars.
