The Detroit Lions only have two games remaining on their 2021 schedule but that does not mean they are throwing in the white towel when it comes to solidifying their roster.
According to the NFL’s transaction wire, the Lions hosted defensive back DeAundre Alford for a workout on Wednesday.
From MLive:
Alford was the starting cornerback for the Grey Cup-winning Winnipeg Blue Bombers earlier this month. He was credited with three tackles in Winnipeg’s overtime win against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 108th Grey Cup. Alford had four interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, to go with 48 tackles for the Blue Bombers this most recent season. The 24-year-old was named a CFL all-star during his rookie year and is considered by some as one of the league’s most sought-after players.
Who knows, maybe Lions GM Brad Holmes has himself a diamond in the rough with Alford.
