Are the Detroit Lions interested in trading for Pro-Bowl defender?

As the Detroit Lions continue their preparations for the 2019 regular season, many believe they could end up with one of the best defensive lines in the NFL when it comes to stopping the run.

But what about getting to opposing quarterbacks?

In 2018, the Lions were 11th in the NFL when it came to sacking the quarterback but they hope that total will improve this coming season, especially with newly acquired DE Trey Flowers now in the mix.

But those who have followed Flowers while he was with the Patriots know he is not a guy who is going to go out and be among the top sack leaders in the league. In fact, he has averaged seven per season over the last three years.

So, could the Lions still be looking for another pass rusher?

According to reports, 10 teams in the NFL have talked to the Houston Texans about trading for Pro Bowl DE/LB Jadeveon Clowney. Could one of those teams be the Lions?

Though Clowney is a great talent on the defensive side of the ball, I would be shocked if Lions’ GM Bob Quinn is seriously considering a trade.

The Texans are a team who needs help on the offensive line and that is not exactly something the Lions can afford to give up. Because of that, it is highly unlikely that the Lions are one of the 10 teams in contact with the Texans.

Nation, do you think the Lions should trade for Clowney?
