As Detroit Lions fans, we are currently focused on getting into the NFL Playoffs, but that does not eliminate the fact that the 2023 NFL Mock Draft season is upon us. As it stands, if the 2023 NFL Draft were to take place today, the Lions would hold the No. 6 overall pick (Via Los Angeles Rams), and the No. 17 overall pick. In the latest 2023 NFL Mock Draft published by Brian Bosarge of NFL Countdown, the Lions solidify their trenches.
Who did the Detroit Lions land in this 2023 NFL Mock Draft?
As you see below, Bosarge has the Detroit Lions landing the top interior defensive linemen in the draft in Jalen Carter out of Georgia and arguably the top offensive lineman in the class in O’Cryrus Torrence out of Florida.
Here is what Bosarge has to say about Carter and Torrence.
No. 6 Jalen Carter – DL (Georgia)
I did not think the Lions’ pick from the Rams would be higher than their own before the season, but here we are. Jared Goff has played well enough to offset the immediate need at QB. Carter will fit in great with the defense that is being put together in the Motor City.
No. 17 O’Cyrus Torrence – OG (Florida)
One could argue that Torrence is the best overall OL in this class. He is another culture pick in Detroit.
What if?
If the Detroit Lions are able to walk away with Jalen Carter with the No. 6 overall pick, I would jump for joy! To be honest, I think he will be off the board by then, but if he is still on the board when the Lions are on the clock, you can bet they will rush to the podium to turn in their pick.
As far as Torrence goes, he would be the final piece to the Lions’ offensive line puzzle as they would then have five first-round picks on their line.
Nation, how would you feel about this draft haul?
