Detroit Lions land top defender and stud wide receiver in latest 2022 NFL Mock Draft

There is still plenty of time for things to change but as it stands, the Detroit Lions hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft along with whatever pick the Los Angeles Rams earn in the first round.

Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports has released his latest 2022 NFL Mock Draft and it is no surprise that he has the Lions selecting Kayvon Thibodeaux with the No. 1 overall pick. With the Rams pick (No. 27 overall at this point), he has the Lions snagging stud wide receiver, Chris Olave out of Ohio State.

Here is what Wilson has to say about each pick.

Round 1 (Pick 1) – Kayvon Thibodeaux (DE) – Oregon

This is a familiar spot for Thibodeaux because he’s been as good as advertised this season. But there may not be that much difference between the Oregon standout and Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson.

Round 1 (Pick 27) – Chris Olave (WR) – Ohio State

Ultimately, the Lions may end up moving around the draft board to target a QB (assuming they don’t land one in free agency) but since we’re not doing trades here, they take Olave 26 picks after getting Thibodeaux. As it stands, only Quintez Cephus and Amon-Ra St. Brown are under contract after this season.

Nation, would you be happy if the draft turned out this way for the Lions?
