According to Tim Twentyman, Detroit Lions rookie linebacker Kyle Van Noy has undergone surgery. This was almost expected. Van Noy knew something was wrong before his last scheduled start, and he said that he feared it was a sports hernia. Core muscle surgery is common in athletes, and can take several weeks to recover from. Tahir Whitehead will need to step up big on order to stabilize the Detroit defense. Whitehead performed well when he started in Van Noy’s place.
