Detroit Lions ‘Legend’ retires from the NFL

We all knew the time would eventually come, as Father Time doesn’t spare anyone, but this may be a tough one for Detroit Lions‘ fans to come to terms with.

That’s right, Lions’ ‘legend’ Robert Ayers has announced he is retiring from the NFL.

For those of you familiar with Ayers time in Detroit, we hope you got a little laugh out of this.

For those of you who have no idea what this is all about, here is a refresher.

In August of 2018, news broke that the Lions had signed veteran defensive end Robert Ayers. On that Monday, Ayers participated in his first practice with his Lions’ teammates.

A day later, Ayers was released with no explanation.

So, there ya go!

Best of luck to Robert Ayers and his next endeavor, even if it does only last one day!
