The 2020 NFL Mock Draft is just 13 days away and the tension is starting to build as we wonder what the Detroit Lions will do with the No. 3 overall pick. Will the keep the pick for themselves and make a bold pick like QB Tua Tagovailoa? Will they trade back to acquire more draft capital?
According to a recent mock draft published by Dr. Roto on Sports Illustrated, the Lions will trade back with the Miami Dolphins (acquiring the No. 5 and No. 26 overall picks).
The Lions then went on to select CB Jeffrey Okudah with the No. 5 pick but what they did with the No. 26 pick is what is interesting.
Dr. Roto, had the Lions selecting Matthew Stafford‘s eventual replacement with the No. 26 pick. That player is QB Jordan Love out of Utah State.
“Love will go to the Lions, or they will trade out of this slot to some other team who will take him. Matthew Stafford’s contract is way too expensive, and they can groom Love for a season before they give him the job.”
These are the kinds of throws that have NFL personnel folks so intrigued by Jordan Love. 🚀 pic.twitter.com/Yj82MHpF3s
