Last week, the Detroit Lions announced they had placed safety Brady Breeze on waivers with an injury designation.
If Breeze passed through waivers without being claimed, which he did, he would then be reverted back to injured reserve, ending his season with the Lions.
The Lions then had the option to keep Breeze on their injured reserve for the remainder of the 2022 season or they could reach an injury settlement with him, which would allow him to become a free agent and potentially join another team this season.
According to Aaron Wilson, the Lions have made the decision to remove Breeze from injured reserve with an injury settlement, which means he is now a free agent.
