Matthew Stafford has not had one of his better seasons with the Detroit Lions.
That is a fact.

Granted, he has not had much help around him on the offensive side of the ball, he has played injured, and he has been forced to run plays called by one of the worst offensive coordinators in the business, Jim Bob Cooter.
Because of Stafford’s performance on the field this season, his haters have grown louder than ever and they have successfully recruited plenty of fans this season to their side. Many of those haters are begging for the Lions to trade Stafford during the coming offseason, claiming he is the one holding the team back.
NOTE: Those people are complete morons.
Anyways, the Stafford trade discussions have been written about and spoken about quite a bit as of late and just about everybody has heard the arguments for and against.
But there is one person who says he does not listen to the trade talk and that is none other than…
Matthew Stafford, himself.
On Thursday, Stafford spoke to the media and when asked, the Lions signal-caller not only said he does not listen to the trade talk, but he said he would love to finish his career in Detroit.
Matthew Stafford says he doesn’t listen to the trade talk, but he’d love to finish his career in Detroit.

From MLive:
“I think there’s something special about a guy getting a chance to play his entire career in one place,” Stafford said in front of his locker after Thursday’s practice. “Not many guys get to do that these days. Would love to be one of those guys. It’s not (up to me), but like I just said, I would love to be one of those guys who played in the same place his whole career.”
To be fair, this is not exactly breaking news. After all, what did the reporter who asked Stafford the question expect him to answer? That he was bothered by the trade talk and he could not wait to win a Super Bowl in another city?
Whether or not Stafford truly pays attention to what is written/spoken by the media, nobody really knows. But one thing is for sure, if he does not turn it around on the football field in a big way in 2019, the hate will only continue to get louder and louder.
