When the Detroit Lions host the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football, they will need all of the help they can get to take down Tom Brady and company. After all, the Lions are off to a 0-2 start and they have not looked remotely good in any phase of the game. That, coupled with the fact that the Patriots are coming off a loss and will be looking to get back on track, means the Lions will have to bring their “A” game and still may need to catch a couple of breaks.

One of those breaks may come in the form of Patriots’ All-Pro tight end, Rob Gronkowski watching from the sidelines.
On Thursday, the Patriots released their daily practice report which includes all players with injuries and Gronkowski’s name is included. As you can see below, Gronk was not included on the report on Wednesday but was limited on Thursday with an ankle injury.
Though it is not clear on how significant (if at all) Gronkowski’s ankle injury is, it is never a great sign when a player is added to the report late in the week.
With their lack of ability to cover opposing tight ends, this could be the huge break the Lions need to come away with a victory on Sunday Night Football.
