Detroit Lions defensive back Morice Norris is doing his best to keep spirits high after a scary scene in Friday night’s preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Early in the fourth quarter, Norris went down with what appeared to be a serious injury, prompting medical staff to rush onto the field. He was placed on a stretcher, loaded into an ambulance, and transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for observation. Out of respect for Norris, Lions head coach Dan Campbell and Falcons head coach Raheem Morris agreed to run out the remaining 14-plus minutes of the game clock (the game was eventually suspended with around 6 minutes left), ending the contest with Detroit ahead 17-10 as players gathered at midfield to pray.
Later that night, the Lions announced Norris was in stable condition, had feeling and movement in all extremities, and would remain at the hospital overnight.
Now, less than 24 hours later, Norris himself has posted his own injury update, along with an important message.
Norris’ Full Instagram Story Message
In an Instagram Story post, Norris reassured everyone checking in on him:
“Amen Amen I’m all good man don’t stress it appreciate all the check ins and love 💙”
The post also included an inspirational faith-based message titled “Be Grateful When You Pray” that read:
“When you talk to God, make sure gratitude is part of your prayer. It is easy to focus only on what we need, but taking time to thank Him changes our hearts and deepens our trust. Gratitude shifts our prayers from a list of requests to a conversation filled with love and faith. Remember, no matter what you are going through, there is always something to thank God for, and when you do, you will feel His peace.

The Big Picture
This latest post from Norris is a welcome sign for fans who feared the worst. His quick recovery updates, coupled with the encouraging news from the Lions, suggest he’s in good hands and on the road to healing.
His message makes one thing clear, he’s staying positive and leaning on faith through it all.
The entire Lions community, along with the Falcons and NFL fans across the country, continue to send prayers and support his way.

I’m an emergency room nurse (recently retired). When I saw the play live on the TV I started praying that it wasn’t as bad as it looked. I’ve seen too many that are bad.. As a life long Lions fan, I pray for your safety, recovery and possible return to the team.
