Detroit Lions nearly had everything ruined by New Orleans Saints

As you know by now, the Detroit Lions used traded up 20 spots in the 2022 NFL Draft and eventually selected WR Jameson Williams out of Alabama with the No. 12 overall pick.

But according to Lions GM Brad Holmes, the New Orleans Saints nearly ruined everything for the Lions after they traded up to No. 11.

Holmes said he knew the Saints were in the market for a wide receiver and that he thought they could be moving up to steal Williams right from under their nose.

Detroit Lions nearly had to go in a different direction

From Detroit Free Press:

The Seahawks took Mississippi State offensive tackle Charles Cross at nine. The New York Jets followed, as Holmes suspected they would, by drafting Ohio State receiver Garrett Wilson at 10. And Holmes felt his heart skip a beat when the New Orleans Saints traded up to 11 with the Washington Commanders.

When the Saints used the 11th pick on Wilson’s Ohio State teammate, receiver Chris Olave, Holmes felt a rush of adrenaline.

Nation, do you think the Lions made the right move by trading up to No. 12 to select Jameson Williams?

James Cook Might Be the Exact Piece the Buffalo Bills Needed

Not every team has the luxury to draft a part-time player, and that’s definitely not all that Georgia Bulldogs running back James Cook can be, but even in that role, he’s a great pick for the Buffalo Bills.

Cook’s main knocks entering the draft are workload related while playing at Georgia. That and his weight (199 pounds). Cook did break the 1,000-yard barrier in 2021 (1,012 yards) after posting totals of 373, 320, and 528 yards in his first three seasons.

What’s the breakdown of Cook with the Bills in 2022?
