With the entire right side of the Detroit Lions starting offensive line entering free agency, Bob Quinn has made a run at Ricky Wagner, arguably the best right tackle on the market. The Lions are expected to sign him Thursday, the first official day to ink free agents.

Last week, I highlighted Wagner in my list of free agents Quinn needed to target with hopes he could be signed in the seven million dollar range.

“At just 27-years-old, Wagner is coming off his second great campaign in three years after rebounding from a sophomore slump accelerated by Lisfranc surgery at the end of 2014. He has elite right tackle potential and is just as nasty in the run game as he is in pass pro – something the Lions are severely lacking.”

While that’s a bigger cap hit than expected, he will no doubt add much-needed talent to the woeful offensive line in Detroit.

Just ask quarterback Matthew Stafford.
