The Lions have announced the signing of a new wide receiver to the team’s practice squad.

Andrew Turzilli will take the place of recently released wideout Corey Fuller, who has signed with the New Orleans Saints.

Turzilli, who played three years at the University of Kansas, and his senior year Rutgers University, signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent in May of 2015. In college, he caught a total of 37 passes for a total of 838 yards and six touchdowns. He played in three games for the Titans during his rookie season, catching two passes for 25 yards, and was ultimately waived by Tennessee. Turzilli then signed with the San Francisco 49ers practice squad, before going back to the Titans’ practice squad. He was unable to secure a spot on the main roster out of training camp before this season, however.

Turzilli served a four game suspension at the beginning of this NFL season as a result of a violation of the league’s policy on performance enhancing substances, which was also a detriment to his attempt at making the Titans’ main roster out of training camp.

Including the recent addition of Turzilli, the Lions’ practice squad now includes WR Jace Billingsley, CB Alex Carter, G Brandon Thomas, LB Steve Longa, DB Charles Washington, G Matt Rotherman, TE Khari Lee, CB Adairius Barnes, and RB Mike James.
