When Jermaine Kearse went down with a season-ending injury on the first drive of the first preseason game of the year, it seemed pretty obvious that the Detroit Lions would be on the lookout for his replacement.
Up to this point, that has not been the case, but maybe that’s by design.
Maybe, Lions’ GM Bob Quinn is waiting for a certain player to be cut from his current team.
Well, that may have just happened.

According to reports, WR Dontrelle Inman has requested his release from the Patriots, and they have agreed to release him.

Prior to signing with the defending champion Patriots during the offseason, Inman met with the Lions, so they obviously had some interest at that time.
Inman, who is 30, caught 28 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns in 9 games (4 starts) with the Indianapolis Colts in 2018.

Ever since her husband passed away in 2014 and Martha Ford took over as owner of the Detroit Lions, she has avoided the media like the plague.
But in an NFL Films special which will air on ESPN, Ford, who is 93, says her best memory has yet to take place.
My best memory hasn’t come yet. I want to get the Lombardi Trophy” Ford says on the special.
Though the Lions do have four NFL Championships (1935, 1952, 1953, 1957), they have never even appeared in a Super Bowl, much less win one.
Though Martha now owns the Lions, that would not have been the case had her husband William Clay Ford listened to her many years ago.
