The Detroit Lions running back duo of Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery continues to make history. On Sunday against the Chicago Bears, both players registered a rushing touchdown, marking the 10th time they’ve each scored on the ground in the same game.

According to the Lions PR staff, that ties the NFL record for the most games in which both members of a running back tandem have produced a rushing TD in the same contest.

It’s just the latest reminder of how dangerous this duo has become. Gibbs powered his way to 20 touchdowns in 2024, while Montgomery chipped in with 12 of his own, giving Detroit one of the most balanced backfields in football.
With this record now tied, all eyes will be on whether Gibbs and Montgomery can break it in the weeks ahead, and solidify themselves as the most productive RB duo in NFL history.
