Detroit Lions OLB DeAndre Levy is the NFC Defensive Player of the Week

DeAndre Levy is finally getting some recognition for his hard work on Detroit’s defense. Levy is coming off his career best season, and he started 2014 right where he left off. Levy was all over the field on Monday night, and he tallied 10 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and he even had one of the sweetest interceptions that you will ever see.

The Detroit Lions needed someone to step up on defense, after rookie outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy went down with an injury. DeAndre Levy made sure that nobody was forgetting about him anytime soon. The Lions’ defense played a very solid game on Monday night, and that was recognized nationally.

DeAndre Levy has never won the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award, and he is the first Detroit Lion to win the honor since Stephen Boyd, in 1997. This could be the beginning of a great season for the Detroit Lions. If anyone can help keep the Lions defensive unit competitive it is DeAndre Levy.
