When it comes to strengths on the Detroit Lions, there may not be many but when it comes to offensive lines, they should have one of the top 10 (maybe even better) units in the entire NFL.
But could the Lions make a bold move that would strengthen their offensive line even more?
Well, Bill Barnwell of ESPN is predicting the Lions sign 5-time Pro Bowl guard Trai Turner to a 1-year, $4.5 million deal.
From ESPN:
Prediction: signs one-year, $4.5 million deal with the Detroit Lions
An imposing run-blocker who made five straight Pro Bowls from 2015 to 2019, Turner was limited to nine games by multiple injuries last season. The Chargers cut Turner after the season in a quiet market, but there are too many lineman-needy teams out there for Turner to start the year without a job.
The Lions are starting over on offense, and we know how much coach Dan Campbell wants wrecking balls at the line of scrimmage. Turner would step in at right guard and help solidify the line in front of new Detroit quarterback Jared Goff.
Nation, do you think the Lions should add Turner?
I think money can be better spent elsewhere.
Yes, yes yes to Turner. Good ” trenchers ” on the lines both offensively and defensively breed success. Campbell and Holmes know that @ seemsmores9thaj other leadership. DOOOOOOO ITTTT.
It’s a good idea to reinforce strength. I would support adding Turner, but only if the Lions also add equivalent talent at Linebacker and Safety.
If he’s 100% ok sign him, when healthy he’s awesome.
