Jan. 5, 1992.
As I sat in the stands at the Pontiac Silverdome and watched my Detroit Lions absolutely destroy the Dallas Cowboys to the tune of 38-6 to advance to the NFC Championship Game, I can remember thinking about how awesome it was going to be to win a Super Bowl.

At that time, I was just 14 years old and I had only been watching football for six years or so. I really did not know much at all about the history of the Lions franchise and I certainly never would have believed the impressive win over the Cowboys would be the only playoff win I would see until I was in my forties.
That ends now.
Throughout the years, my faithfulness to the Lions has continued to grow, despite the franchise not giving me much to celebrate.
Maybe it’s because I had the opportunity to be a ball boy for the team and hang around the greatest running back of all-time, Barry Sanders and other Lions players like Herman Moore, Johnnie Morton, and Bennie Blades. Or maybe it’s because I being loyal through thick and thin was always something that was instilled in me as I grew up.
No matter the reason, I have always loved the Detroit Lions and I will always love the Detroit Lions.
No shortage of haters

When you are a fan of a team that has only won a single playoff game since 1957, you have to be thick-skinned because the haters are everywhere.
Whether it was getting made fun of for wearing Lions shirts to high school on a regular basis, getting laughed at for always being optimistic about my team, or fast forward to the present as I consistently get bashed by the trolls whenever I write something positive about the team I love, there is never a shortage of haters when it comes to the Detroit Lions.
To be completely honest, these haters really don’t bother me one single bit. In fact, I feel bad they have to live with the negative mindset and doomsday mentality they are stuck with.
Shutting up the haters begins now

Until the Lions actually do their talking on the field and win a playoff game (and more), the hate and the laughing will just continue to grow.
But guess what? Shutting up those haters begins now.
As I have been saying, the 2019 Detroit Lions are going to rise up and they are going to accomplish some things they have failed to accomplish in a very long time.
First of all, the Lions WILL win what should be a very competitive NFC North division and they will parlay that into their first playoff win since 1992.
I truly believe Matt Patricia is the coach who will turn around the Lions franchise and as he continues to get the players he wants, the wins will follow.
For the Detroit Lions, shutting up the haters begins now!
