A week ago, news broke that the Detroit Lions were placing Matthew Stafford on the reserve/COVID-19 list after he had close contact with somebody who had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Thankfully, Stafford was able to isolate himself and test negative for the rest of the week, allowing him to play in Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
But prior to the game, a report surfaced that Stafford had actually had another false-positive COVID-19 test result during the week.
On Wednesday, Stafford spoke with reporters about the Lions upcoming game against the Washington Football Team and Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press asked him to confirm that he had a second false-positive result last week.
Stafford just shook his head and said, “no” a few times.
As you may recall, Stafford did have a false-positive COVID-19 test result prior to the start of the 2020 season.
