Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson has been absent from the lineup since suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings.
And since then, the Lions season has gone absolutely downhill. They currently sit at 3-10-1 with no hope of a playoff appearance and nothing to play for besides pride and jobs next season.
Johnson could potentially return for tomorrow's matchup against the Denver Broncos, and though he knows the decision isn't in his hands, he's ready to go.

“I hope to,” Johnson said. “I don't make those decisions, but if I'm called upon, I'll be ready. And if I'm not, I'll be ready to cheer 'em on. But I feel good, I feel like I can (play) if I need to, but like I said, that decision is way above us, so we'll wait and see.”
He's been practicing for the past three weeks and is eligible to return from IR. He's tired of sitting on the sidelines, and is anxious to get back into game action.
“I feel good, man,” Johnson said. “I've been practicing for, what? Three weeks now, I guess? It's been fine. Just trying to get back to my old self, just working, being out there having something to do instead of sitting around watching everybody else do stuff. It's very exciting, so I've been happy.”
Should Johnson appear in game action, it will surely be a hotly-contested topic among the fan base, many of whom would rather see Johnson sit and avoid further injury going into next season.
