Detroit Lions Re-Sign TE Tim Wright

The Detroit Lions have re-signed tight end Tim Wright, whom they acquired from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season for placekicker Kyle Brindza. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Appearing in nine games for the Lions last season, Wright recorded nine receptions for 77 yards and two touchdowns, both in wins against the Chicago Bears.

Wright came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Buccaneers and had a stint with the Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots in 2014. Throughout his career, he has 89 receptions for 907 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Currently, the Lions have Wright, Eric Ebron, Brandon Pettigrew, Jordan Thompson, and Casey Pierce signed at the tight end position.
