Detroit Lions release initial Week 2 Injury Report

Heading into their Week 1 matchup against the New York Jets, the Detroit Lions were one of the healthiest, if not THE healthiest team in the NFL. Unfortunately, that health failed to give the Lions even the slightest advantage over a banged up Jets team as they were pummeled 48-17 at Ford Field.

Now we are on to Week 2 and the Lions are still rather healthy as they make preparations for their road game against the San Francisco 49ers. On Wednesday, the Lions conducted a walkthrough and the only two players to miss the practice entirely were offensive linemen Andrew Donnal and T.J. Lang.

Matthew Stafford said on Tuesday night that despite getting banged up a couple of times against the Jets, he would be good to against the 49ers.

Another bullet the Lions dodged was with Ezekiel Ansah, who had an MRI that revealed no major damage to his shoulder. He is hopeful he can take the field with his teammates on Sunday afternoon.

Dear Detroit Lions players: By quitting on Matt Patricia, you would be quitting on your fans

Detroit Lions players,

Heading into the season, there was plenty of optimism about the team. Sure, that optimism was chopped down a bit after a rough preseason, but as you know, us Lions’ fans (at least your true fans) are loyal to a fault and we always have hope that this will finally be the year.

For many of us, that hope took a big shot to the gut on Monday night when you were blown out by the New York Jets on your home turf. It was not just that you lost the game but that you looked unprepared, unfocused, and at many times, unmotivated.

As a professional myself (as most of your fans are), I would be highly insulted if somebody from the outside looking in accused me of not giving 100% while at my job, so that is not what I am going to do to you. But, I will also tell you that it is extremely hard to lay it all on the line when you do not believe in or respect your leader. Trust me, I’ve been there in the past. Many of us have.
