Detroit Lions release RB C.J. Anderson, claim RB Paul Perkins

According to the Detroit Lions, they have been awarded RB Paul Perkins off waivers and have waived RB C.J. Anderson.

Perkins, who is 24, was just released by the New York Giants. In 11 games with the Giants in 2017, he had 41 carries for 90 yards. During the 2016 campaign, Perkins had 456 rushing yards in 14 games. He has not scored a touchdown in his NFL career.

Anderson was signed by the Lions this offseason. In 2 games with the Lions this season, he had 16 carries for 43 yards.
