Friday night was not a great one for the Detroit Lions and it had nothing to do with the fact they lost to the Buffalo Bills.

What really hurt the Lions on Friday was that they lost two important starters to what could end up being significant injuries.
One of those injuries was to starting center Frank Ragnow, who suffered what looks to be an ankle injury in the 2nd quarter.
#Lions C Frank Ragnow was carted to the locker room with what appeared to be a moderate to severe right lateral ankle sprain. Hoping an X-ray will rule out any fracture. MRI results will give a clear timeline. pic.twitter.com/AswpkC1N3t

Though this injury could end being severe, there is some hope as Ragnow was seen testing out his ankle on the sideline.
I went back and looked at the Ragnow injury. He didn't put any weight on it on the field but appeared to test it out as soon as he got to the sideline. #Lions pic.twitter.com/gjU6SArhc7

But what if the injury ends up being serious and Ragnow ends up missing significant time?
Personally, I believe that Lions’ GM Bob Quinn will be working the phones like a mad man over the next week or so to find a trade that would bring in a center (or guard if they move Graham Glasgow back to center) to fill the void but there may be another option.
That option would be to sign former Los Angeles Rams center John Sullivan.

Sullivan, who is 34, was extremely durable for the Rams over the past two seasons as he started 31 out of a possible 32 games. In fact, the only game Sullivan sat out was the finale of the 2017 season when the Rams rested many of their starters so they were healthy for the playoffs.
Though Sullivan is not on the level of Frank Ragnow, he is a veteran who has played in huge games over his career, including the Super Bowl this past season.
