The 2021 NFL Draft is less than a week away and much of the focus has been about who the Detroit Lions will select with the No. 7 overall pick.
That being said, as it stands, the Lions also have picks in Round 2, Round 3 (2), Round 4, and Round 5 and it would not be surprising at all if they add one or two more before all is said and done.
One player who could be available for the Lions in the later rounds is former Michigan running back Chris Evans.
According to former DSN writer (now with Sports Illustrated) Logan Lamorandier, Evans is one of the players the Lions have already met with.

Now, just because a team meets with a player does not mean they are going to draft them but it certainly means there was enough interest to kick the tires.
In my opinion, the Lions don't need to take a running back in this draft cycle as they already have D'Andre Swift, Jamaal Williams, and Kerryon Johnson. But, if Evans is still available in the sixth round, it may be worth the Lions checking to see what it would cost to move back into the draft to select him.
