Detroit Lions Roster Cut List – 53 man roster

Final cuts were made and the Lions roster is complete.

In order to get down to the 53 man roster by 4PM today (8/30) – the Lions were forced to make some tough choices today.

Below is a list of those who were cut. We will break down each cut once the dust settles.

  1. I’m a little surprised about George Winn. Hopefully the Lions can figure out a way to keep him on the practice squad or some such. He looked pretty good in preseason.

  2. The Lions made the hard choice at WR, CB….I’m proud of them unless the cut players make the Pro Bowl and make us all go looney …they didn’t have the courage at QB but it’s a compromise…there is plenty of incentive to see what the backup QBs can do this year
