Just prior to the Detroit Lions Week 7 win over the Atlanta Falcons, the Lions announced that S Miles Killebrew was inactive because of personal reasons.

Earlier today, Killebrew joined Steve Courtney on the WJR Lions pregame show and he revealed why he missed the game.
Killebrew told Courtney that his reason for missing the game was because his wife was in labor and give birth to his first child (a baby girl) on Sunday.
“I wasn’t able to make the game because my wife was actually in labor,” Killebrew said. “And we welcomed our first child, Stormy J. Killebrew into this world on Sunday morning.”
Killebrew added that he was trying to figure out a way to make it to the game but when it came down to it, he was not going to miss the birth of his baby.
