When looking back at the Detroit Lions and the NFL Draft, the only thing that is predictable is that they will be unpredictable throughout the process. Maybe that is about to change, at least for one pick, as the Lions seem to be all-in on selecting safety Justin Simmons out of Boston College.
According to Pro Football Rumors, the Lions have shown great interest in Simmons, including meeting with him on Tuesday for dinner and to break down film. In addition, the Lions spent some time with Simmons during Shrine week and conducted an interview with him at the NFL Combine.
Simmons, according to CBS Sports, is currently ranked as the seventh-best free safety in the draft and is projected to be selected in the 5th or 6th round.
