Detroit Lions sign defensive lineman Corey Wootton

The Detroit Lions signed defensive lineman Corey Wootton to a one-year deal on Thursday, providing additional defensive depth on a front line that continues to rebuild following the loss of a slew of key players.

Wootton played 15 games for the Minnesota Vikings last year, making 16 tackles in the process. He played the previous four seasons for the Chicago Bears.

Wootton joins a new core including the likes of Haloti Ngata, Tyrunn Walker, and Gabe Wright, all brought on board in part to replace the loss of Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley, and .
