According to the Detroit Lions, they have signed former New England Patriots safety A.J. Howard to the practice squad.

Howard, who is 24, has bounced around a few practice squads but has yet to play in a game.
He played his college ball at Appalachian State where he played in 51 games over four seasons, picking up three interceptions and 14 passes defended in his career.
